Shopping in Great Yarmouth
Great Yarmouth has some great shopping opportunities just waiting for you to discover, whether you're shopping on a mission for something in particular or in search of some much-needed retail therapy and relaxation.
Great Yarmouth itself is a traditional market town; a large market place at the heart of the town, a permanent market (currently being redeveloped so be sure to look for your favourite traders as they will have moved) with extra stalls on market day on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Town centre shops and stores surround the market place and line almost every road and street leading towards it. Almost all shops are within easy walking distance of most car parks, and parking is free in most car parks after 4pm every day.
Additional shopping opportunities can be found in nearby Gorleston-on-Sea where the high street has plenty of shops to browse.
On the main roads between Gorleston-on-Sea and Great Yarmouth, several out of town retail parks can be found, home to some of the larger warehouses such as TK Maxx & M&S Food Outlet
There are more shops to be found in the villages of Caister-on-Sea and Hemsby, which cater superbly for people staying on local holiday parks who want to cook for themselves.
Norfolk is an agricultural county next to the sea, so keep an eye out for fishmongers and local butchers in many of the borough's villages. The baking aroma from local bakers always smells delicious, perfect for sandwiches and picnics. Several large supermarkets can be found if you're wanting to do a large shop all in one go.
