Get active in Great Yarmouth

Get active on holiday and let off some steam, with a huge choice of things to do in Great Yarmouth. For sporting enthusiasts, you'll find golf courses, bowling greens and tennis courts to play on.

Hire a bike, download a cycle map for inspiration and go for a cycle ride. The map has six mainly circular leisure routes all designed to make the most of Great Yarmouth's rich and varied scenery. Or have a go at horse riding and gallop through the beautiful countryside.

The Norfolk countryside in the Great Yarmouth area has some great footpaths and walking trails to explore, with coast, countryside and Broads views to admire as you go.

Fishing and birdwatching opportunities are wide and varied, but if you'd rather be on the water than next to it, you can mess about on the river or on the Broads to your heart's content.

Indoor sports are well catered for too, with several gyms, spas and swimming pools to be found locally.

There's no shortage of fun sporting activities to do too with ten-pin bowling, indoor children's activity centres and themed adventure golf.

If watching sport is more your style, Great Yarmouth is the ideal location for race goers, with greyhound racing all year round, stock car and banger racing and horse race meetings at the racecourse.

The Visit Great Yarmouth Bowls Festival takes place from August Bank Holiday to late September on Britannia Bowling Greens, with plenty of seats for spectators.
