Hunters Yard Open Day - Heritage Open Day in Ludham, Great Yarmouth - Great Yarmouth

Hunters Yard

About

Hunter's Yard dates back to the 1930s and is much the same today as it was then.
Now a charity, It is home to the Hunter's Fleet of 14 classic Broads yachts, built in the 1930s.
It also has eight half-deckers - the earliest of which was built in the 1920s.
The Heritage Open Day on Saturday 12th September is a great time to visit, to see the boats out sailing and have a taster sail yourself.
The team will be on hand for boatyard tours and will be delighted to show visitors the boats from the 1974 film of Swallows and Amazons and the 1984 films of Coot Club and The Big Six - both filmed on the Broads and featuring Hunter's Yard.
You are welcome to picnic on the lawns overlooking the river and there will be refreshments and games. Make a day of it and visit the wherry Albion which is also open that day and is just next door.
