Seven of Great Yarmouth’s most iconic buildings have been put in the spotlight. New lighting on the Town Hall, St George’s Theatre, the Tolhouse, the Minster Church of St Nicholas, the Arc Cinema at the Royalty, the North West Tower, and Gorleston Pavilion shows off these 7 cultural beacons. This collection includes five listed buildings and a scheduled monument, with all the buildings representing a special place in the town’s history and cultural life.
They are all bathed in new energy-efficient LED lighting, focusing on the impressive architecture which has seen many of them given legal protection from changes. Look out for phase two in Spring 2022.
A magical, blazing display of fire installations & sculptures took place in The Waterways from 21 October to 6 November and was a roaring success.
From the producers of the Out There Festival and Great Yarmouth Borough Council, an immersive experience with dramatic outdoor arts, hypnotic water projections and shining installations took place with glowing embers leaping and twirling in the night, warming the hearts of all who spectated.
The Venetian Waterways was transformed into a spectacular scene that will provided amazing cross-site visibility and offer plenty of car parking space, wheelchair accessibility and suitable space for visitors to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
In the weeks before Christmas, Great Yarmouth's Market Place was transformed with twinkly lights leading from Great Yarmouth Minster to the Market Place including along Market Row. St George's Park benefitted from some lit up trees too.
New decorative lights were also placed on the North end of the seafront on North Drive, on the promenade in Gorleston-on-Sea and in Gorleston's Bandstand.
