Big Wednesdays shortlisted for Event & Festival of the Year

We’re delighted to announce that Great Yarmouth’s Big Wednesdays have been shortlisted for the Event & Festival of the Year Award at the Suffolk & Norfolk Tourism Awards – and now we need your vote! Click here to Vote for Big Wednesdays

Throughout the summer, Big Wednesdays brought spectacular free entertainment to Great Yarmouth’s famous Golden Mile, attracting thousands of people to the seafront for a series of unforgettable Wednesday evenings.

The programme featured incredible AeroSPARX pyrotechnic aerial plane display, spectacular firework displays and breathtaking drone light shows, creating magical summer evenings on the seafront for visitors of all ages.

Best of all, the entertainment was completely free to attend, helping make memorable experiences accessible to everyone while encouraging thousands of people to spend more time enjoying Great Yarmouth.

Supporting Great Yarmouth’s visitor economy

Big Wednesdays are about much more than the displays themselves. By attracting thousands of people to the Golden Mile throughout the summer, the events provided an important boost to Great Yarmouth’s visitor economy during one of the busiest times of the year.

Visitors arriving early and staying later helped support the many fantastic businesses along the seafront and across the resort, from attractions, amusement arcades and entertainment venues to restaurants, cafés, takeaways, pubs and accommodation providers.

The events also provided another great reason to visit Great Yarmouth during the summer, showcasing the vibrant atmosphere of our seafront and helping reinforce Great Yarmouth’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading seaside destinations.
